OUR CLASSES

Online Classes Currently Being Offered! New Student Special

Class pass: 5 classes for $100 for two months starting from purchase date. This 5 class card is a great way to start a yoga practice or learn about University District Yoga. We offer level I, level II and Mixed level yoga classes as well as specialty classes Gentle Yoga and Yoga for Back Care. Use the class pass to try out these classes.

Beginning Level

This class teaches the basic poses of Yoga. The method of teaching is systematic and progressive in order to emphasize alignment and safety. Standing poses, shoulderstand , and other foundational poses will be taught. This class is for beginners and no previous Yoga experience. FIRST CLASS FREE - Tuesday 5:30-6:45PM,  -$160/8 class series

Intermediate Level

6 months to 1 year of beginning level recommended .
Continuation and addition of new and more challenging poses including deep twists, headstand and backbends. Attention to coordinating the body parts while holding the posture for longer. Emphasis on Breath  - Monday 5:00-6:30PM - $25.00-Individual, 10 class series $220 ($22/session).

Gentle Classes

This class teaches the basic poses from the yoga system with more restful variations, including poses to help alleviate muscle stiffness and improve flexibility with an emphasis on the lower back, and the neck and shoulders. Although this is not a therapeutics class it may be appropriate for those recovering from illness, or injury who want to restart their practice.- FIRST CLASS FREE- Wednesday 10:00am-11:15am - $25.00 Per Session

Back Care

Focus on strengthening as well as loosening up the back and hip areas in order to move with more steadiness and lightness. Students will observe which poses alleviate their back pain, learning to understand their lower back. - Thursday 4:45-5:45PM. $35.00 (drop-in rate), 5 class-series $160 ($32/session), 10 class-series $320 ($32/session).

Mixed Level Classes-

This class is for the yogi who has done yoga for at least 6 months and who wants to practice and learn with other students of different levels. FIRST CLASS FREE Tuesday 5:30-6:45PM, Cost:  -$160/8 class series

Private Classes/ Duet Classes

Deepen your home practice with individualized instruction or learn appropriate ways of practicing poses for knee, neck, or back issues. Single Private $90, 3 Private series $240 ($80/session), 6 Private Series $450 ($75/session), 6 Duet Series $600 ($100/session split between two)

WORKSHOPS

First Saturdays of the  Month Yoga Workshop-In Person

Tara will lead an in-person two hour yoga class with rotating themes including how to practice Postures with Props, Pranayama, and Philosophy. 9:30-11:30AM

Yoga for The Shoulders and Neck

Tired of those achy shoulders and neck? Learn poses to loosen and realign the thoracic back and integrate your entire body. Please no major injuries.

Yoga for Women's Health

These workshops will work on a variety of women’s health issues including menstruation, pregnancy, hormonal balance, and menopause.

University District Yoga welcomes you and is a community based organization. No one turned away for lack of funds. Request our financial assistance application.
